Coaching experience
Dan
has been working, learning and moving up the health & fitness and coaching industry
since 1994. His love and talent for teaching others developed quickly and he
was soon appointed as the Head Tennis Coach and Head Lacrosse Coach for
both Kent University and Kings School in Canterbury. Also during this
time, Dan spent two seasons as a specialist coach at Kutshers, voted the best live-in Elite Sports Academy in North America.
Whilst living in the Gold Coast, Australia (2001) he made the transition from coaching sports into coaching fitness and
began his formal studies into psychology, bio-mechanics, physiology, exercise science, and nutrition. His career in fitness began by being a Personal
Trainer to professional Australian sportsmen (primarily Triathletes and
Tennis players).
After Australia, Dan worked as an
Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at an American Football
Training facility in New York state. On his return to the UK he worked for three
years as a resident Sports & Exercise Specialist Trainer at LA Fitness
health clubs, where he was also in charge of training the in-house fitness staff.
In 2005 Dan left his affiliation with LA Fitness and set up 'Dan Roberts Training' and has
since spent a considerable amount of his time
working with and personally training many different clients, including professional or full time athletes from such disciplines as Sprinting, Golf, Tennis, MMA, Muay Thai, Wrestling, Wake-boarding, Skiing, Lacrosse, Surfing, Rock Climbing, Sailing, Triathalon, Boxing and Ballet
In additional to his fitness experience, Dan has
several psychologically based qualifications and hundreds of one to one coaching hours experience in
Stress Reduction, NLP and Performance Life Coaching (with Professional
athletes being among his clients.) He is therefore in a rare
position of being an expert in physical conditioning that can also
assist in psychological conditioning. Both are essential to sporting
success.
